Ouch. The one about the photo was my favourite because I can relate to that one completely. Not long ago I had a client for whom I designed what I thought was a nice, classy website that captured the spirit and nature of his store perfectly. Imagine my surprise when after I submitted the first draft he rejected it completely and made me redo it to match his old GeoCities website, the design of which he re-created for me on a peice of scrap paper.

It broke my heart to do it his way, but the customer is always right.

depending on the airline frequent flyer program you’re in.. . if it’s singapore airlines, you need to have at least 70% of the miles required in order to purchase miles to top up.. . the best bet is to check the airline’s website or call them directly. sorry can’t help much with other airlines…

Jason Bourne hands down and hears why. First off, Jason Bourne is not a spy, he’s an assassin, trained to kill. James Bond, is a spy, trained to gather information and defend himself if required. Second, James Bond usually fights dumb henchmen who usually end up getting the better of him. For the most part, he just gets lucky (with the exception of the Daniel Craig films where he does kick some ass). Jason Bourne takes on Assassins who are trained the same as himself. He also doesn’t have to think about what his next move is or use fancy gadgets to get the job done. He just reacts, and grabs the first thing he can find such as a newspaper, a pen, or a towel and “WHIPS THE SHIT” out of whoever he’s fighting. And thirdly, Bond is just a martini drinking, womanizing, tuxedo wearing pretty bot. Bourne is a programmed machine who can apply first aid on himself while evading the CIA and the Russian secret service.

CONCLUSION: JAMES BOND CAN KISS BOURNES ASS

Maybe it’s a compliment of sorts that a good designer makes it look so easy. There does seem to be a prevailing attitude that creative work takes much less effort and knowledge because you’re just making it look pretty and it’s not rocket science after all. I would never presume to tell another professional I’ve hired how to do their job or offer to pay them much less because they really didn’t have to put much effort into the job. Ah, the pitfalls of a creative career. At least we can still laugh about it.
