Slave to the grind
Monday, September 18th, 2006Back at work for a week now, and adjusting to the routine was not as much a pain as I feared it would be, given that waking up before noon had posed such a problem while on holiday…
Looks like the Missus is inheriting her Mum’s car. I am inheriting the wallet-deflating insurance and car tax. I feel punked.
Seeing as an end to my residency in London is in sight - less than 2 years but that seems to fly by - I’m determined to make use of what’s in London before I go. When you live here you never actually do all the touristy stuff. I came to this conclusion before going to Wales, except I did so during the holidays and found myself queuing outside the Natural History Museum in the rain with all the tourists and the kids on school holidays. The little shits. Memo to self: don’t do touristy stuff during holiday season.
The beginning of the academic year, which is next week I believe, will mean that my favourite lunchtime haunts - the student unions - will be swamped by wide-eyed freshers eager to commence the student lifestyle. Shame, because I really would like to go to Kings SU one Saturday as it’s surprisingly good, considering. Far better than LSE (it’s called Crush for a reason…) and UCL (too chav-heavy for my liking).
Currently thinking about going to see:
One Man Star Wars Trilogy
Rhod Gilbert: Knocking On Heavens Door
Mitchell and Webb
Tim Vine
EDIT- now booked ![]()
